So eloquent and so heartfelt. Nobody should ever have to bare their soul in public like that, but she chose to do it and showed all of us how it's done. Jackie Goldberg, you rock! 
The response from the audience at the end was wonderful, too. I wanted to stand up and cheer myself.
It's ridiculous, as well as despicable, that people can get so worked up about their kids learning that families with 2 daddies or 2 mommies exist in the world *gasp* that they would demonstrate NOISILY outside an elementary school for days. Nice display of "adult" behavior for the kiddos, asshats. 
P.S. I got curious enough to Google her to find out more about her, and she has a long background of activism and serving in various elected offices, including the Los Angeles City Council and the California State Assembly.
