1. Exactly the environment I would have relished in my youth

When I lived in the gayborhood, I enjoyed the perks of openness and boundless humor to be experienced. Along with that came the alcoholics, the druggies and the sexual predators, yet I'll qualify these categories tend to be results of abusive environments, backlash of PTSD from homophobic isolation, bullying, to the point some were taking such issues out on others in an accepting community.
I enjoy seeing much of that ebbing. I admit to a bit of jealousy of the youth that tend to enjoy far more freedom from nonchalant homophobia that was once considered normal and acceptable.
There are those who have reprehensible behaviors, and many others who just want to live out "normal" lives, be in committed relationships, eschew the "vicious queen" profile outside the setting of humorous self-deprecation.
It is the profiling of the worst aspects of some of our community the religious freaks are so anxious to label us with. What a damn catch-22. They create PTSD'd monsters with their god-ordained bullying, render some youth homeless who happen to have the misfortune of growing up in "fundy homes", and worst of all, relish in successfully driving some youth to suicide.
And believe their Jeebus would approve.
