4. 'Komsomol' was the Communist Youth League of the USSR -- strangely, they're still around in some sense.

'Pravda' means 'Truth' (Oh, irony!) and was the name of the national newspaper of the CPSU. So Komsomolskaya Pravda is the house organ of the (formerly Soviet, now Russian) Communist Youth League. Take this "news" report with a grain of salt.
