As unhappy as Russians may be, they respect power and will allow Putin his position. The may evade the draft, grift to get by, bitch and moan but they won't stage a general strike or take other action that would meaningfully change the control dynamic. They had the opportunity for democracy and they didn't embrace it, It's a concept they can define but not see a way to make a reality. Too many years of being told what to do, getting just enough to get by and keep the vodka flowing.
