and that leads to more plastic in the landfills, but I use these grocery bags for my trash. Why buy those trash bags when these work just as well. Besides, it would take me a month to fill a kitchen trash bag that you buy.

I'll tell you, using a paper bag for the kitchen trash would be a disaster in the making. I remember back when I was young and that was all there was, along with newspaper to wrap messy trash in. I have realized that the reason we have so much fewer house flies around the house and yard is that the trash is no longer put in these messy paper bags.
