It's a 2022.

BTW, the cost of used cars has skyrocketed, especially the Prius.

When my wife decided to give her old car away and buy this she told me she wasn't at all interested in the kinds of cars I like to buy, which are at least 15 years old and have a 100,000 or more the odometer.

Once her car was in our driveway I had to know how it all worked. That's just the way I am. I have to know how a machine works. I've been that way since I was a kid.

The "continuously variable transmission" ( CVT ) of the Prius is a thing of beauty. It's not a conventional belt-and-cone type CVT like you see in Nissans.

In the Prius there are two electric motors and a gas engine linked by gears. Mechanically it is very simple compared to a regular automobile transmission. The complexity is all in the electronics that control the electric and gas motors.
