1. Or is Merz/CDU quietly rejecting the Green Deal ?

The decision to phase out nuclear power was made when Angela Merkel was Chancellor under CDU/Union. It was a consensus decision. It may have increased the challenge of attaining carbon neutrality but saying it has led to a severe energy crisis is overstatement. I would be suspicious of the agenda for this "Good Times Bad Times" channel.

Europe just made a historic commitment to clean energy. Leaders from Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands signed the Hamburg Declaration, pledging to deliver 100 gigawatts of offshore wind power through joint projects in the North Sea.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen emphasized energy security, reducing reliance on imports, and boosting European jobs.

This landmark deal signals Europe’s determination to go green while securing its energy future—directly challenging critics of renewable energy.
