...simply moving the PFAS from one place to another.

A real solution would involve breaking lots of very strong chemical bonds requiring lots of energy, radiation with a wavelength of 222 nm or shorter.

Lots has been written about the mineralization of PFAS but from what I can tell, there are no industrial scale plants for doing so.
