Powerwall 3's have reached 97% efficiency. I think 3% is worth being able to shift load generation (Utilities obviously think so). A nuclear plant looses more than that in transmission because they are mostly in remote areas and their power get's sent hundreds of miles away. (Where's the nearest population center from the Diablo Canyon Plant?)

IMO, batteries are like flat screen TV's - now that they have proven their worth, they will continue to get better and cheaper- kind of like flat screen TV's.
