require wind and solar generation companies to pay for electric power they don’t produce at night. Sounds crazy right. Well this is Texas.

The point is to disincentivize construction of new renewable generation. It’s crazy because power demand in Texas is supposed to increase as a result of data centers, AI, and crypto mining. Without renewables there will be brown outs.

Did I say Texas Republicans are crazy?
