being peaceful and living in harmony with nature when some evil campers (almost always members of the patriarchy) harass the poor beast and destroy it's contentment.

Maybe sasquatch is a symbol of the sacred earth mother feminist power being destroyed by the evil penocracy.

/not going to mention the hairy legs. That would be a cheap shot.
