Amman, Jan. 11 (Petra)--Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Wednesday met with US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry as well as another delegation led by the US Senate's Committee on Appropriations Daniel Inouye.

Judeh discussed with the US senators, Jordanian-US ties, the latest developments in the Middle East as well as the peace process.

He also reviewed efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to break the current impasse in the peace process as well as Jordan's efforts to create an appropriate climate to resume Palestinian-Israeli negotiations to achieve the two-state solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The foreign minister also reviewed reforms being implemented by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in the political, economic and social fields.

Senator Kerry stressed the US's support to efforts designed to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.

He also voiced appreciation of major reforms have been achieved by Jordan despite the current situation in the region.
