2. Have seen so many references to that book over the years. Decided I need to get a copy.

On my way to looking for a longer review, I discovered there is also an 8-part documentary on YouTube available now. I'd never heard of it.

Thought I'd grab that and watch it as soon as I can, then go looking for the book. The book does sound excellent. I look forward constantly for new information arriving on breakthroughs regarding all indigenous life before the arrival of the invaders.

There has been more than a little racism shot through all consideration of pre-Colombian life in the "New World" from the first. Looking forward to reading what 1491 has found.

I admire any serious writer or scientist who has found research regarding the original Americans well worth the effort.
