The GoFundMe page makes mention that Corey Baker is a resident of Richmond, Indiana so I searched the Richmond Palladium-Item newspaper and there is no mention of the incident in that publication. Considering that it is a city of about 35,000 residents it would seem like something of this nature would gather attention.

I also searched Facebook for Corey Baker in Richmond, Indiana and the photos on that page bear little resemblance to the man pictured above. The hair color is darker, the man has a beard, the facial features (particularly the nose) appear different and it appears to be someone in their 30s. While there might be more than one Corey Baker in Richmond, there is sufficient reason to speculate about the validity of the request.

If I receive further information that authenticates that the fundraising page is legitimate that I will share it with the rest of the DU community.
