Although Massachusetts has a republican governor, the rules stipulate that if Warren submits a letter of resignation in advance, she can force a special election such that she would immediately be replaced in the senate by the people’s choice and not by an appointee. So the popular notion that she would temporarily be replaced by a republican is a false one. The only question is whether the people of Massachusetts would vote for a democratic senate candidate to replace Warren. That’s not certain, but given the state’s liberal leanings and Warren’s near-certain endorsement of her potential senate successor, it’s probable.

I don't just want Julian Castro to bring out a stronger voting block.. I wanted him as a VP nominee to give the Latino community an historic representation on the Presidential ticket.

That's right now.. we'll see what happens. But, whomever Hillary decides I'm sure will be the best choice.
