4. It is up to state convention delegates to elect national delegates. Not the state party.

There are labor union members throughout the whole structure of the party. From precinct committee persons to state party. Cordelia Lewis Burks a member of AFSCME is Vice Chair of the Party. David Frye is a DNC Member and a member of the Laborers Union. There are also many union members that are officers at the District and County level.

As for labor being represented at the national convention as delegates they can't get elected if they don't run. And there are only so many slots available and there were many running for those slots.

Laying the blame entirely on the Indiana Democratic Party is a mistake. Indiana is no different than any other state that tends to be red. Especially when legislative districts were created to favor the Republican Party. Electing Democrats requires voters to actually vote. If they only vote sporadically it doesn't help. Campaigns are also only as good as the volunteers that are involved.

As for good ole boy network you need to check the requirement by the Indiana Democratic Party. Precinct and Vice Precinct committee persons cannot be the same gender. Chairs and Vice Chairs for county, district and state party cannot be the same gender. Chairs and Vice Chairs of each district are members of the state central committee.
