Ok, here is how our little party is shaping up [View all]

We've all been doing some research, to find out Hillary's favorites, symbolic things, etc. One of the things I do each year of a Superbowl Party is to make a dish from the other team's hometown (i.e., beer and cheese soup for Green Pay Packers, etc, so Bernie is getting representation too)

Here is what we're doing in a small family get together (about 8 people)

Farmer's Market mesculin greens (cut up peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers et al, on the side with an assortment of dressings. Have at it.

June peas because they are *fresh* and delicious.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner...peruvian chicken, fried plantains with hot sauce (the chicken, not the plantains).

As far as I've heard...HRC used to eat some sort of olive burger with mustard...my niece thinks it sounds incredible; I beg to differ, but since she is known to carry hot sauce in her pocketbook, we're going a little spicy for Mama.

I am thinking of making a blonde sangria for a toast.

Something was on the toob the other day, and my mother said, "Good. I hope it burns his beans (referring to Mr. Sanders)...light bulb moment: berned beans...baked beans with bacon, brown sugar and dry mustard. Feel it. Feel the *bern* in my awesome berned beans.

We will have some pita and dips and such. Chocolate cake for dessert. Only because they already devoured the raspberry danish I took over earlier, lol. I might thrown together a peach and blueberry crisp/cobbler because both happen to be on sale, and if "easy as pie" is a saying, then "easier than pie is a crisp or cobbler.

Little Lucy will be there. She is 5 and soooo excited that a girl can be President too.
