7. I've always hated the eating challenges, but then I have seen an esophageal rupture- with or without cardiac arrest

Yesterday

that such "challenges" absolutely threaten to cause to occur. No human or other animal body is built to eat that much that fast...Joey Chestnut, notwithstanding, and I'd bet even he has had some damage to his upper GI tract.

Gluttony over a lifetime has its own risks, but this kind of speed-induced eating record form of gluttony is a special case.

(plus it is obnoxious). I know I am whispering into the wind, but i wish these contests would end-and that includes the more "bizarre" ingestion challenges.
