I tried to reply to one of those naysayers when your "I've had it with this place" thread was locked. Sheesh. I was so incensed to read #66 (Egalitarian Thug), who repeated the right wing argument that Obama had "Democratic majorities in both the House and the Senate" ... "only to continue and expand the policies of his predecessor." Both statements are horrible lies, yet another DUer replied to him, approvingly referring to Thug's use of "facts."

I wanted to tell both of them that Obama only had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for 24 working days. http://factleft.com/2012/01/31/the-myth-of-democratic-super-majority/

And yet, despite that, he managed to accomplish an amazing number of things. Of course he could not get everything done that we wanted, but he did the most important things: he got us out of Iraq, he saved the U.S. auto industry, and (most important to me personally), he passed healthcare reform that will give my brother health insurance coverage for the first time in his adult life.

I imagine they already know that, though, and they just are here to stir the shit. Glad folks like you (and this Barack Obama Group) are here to counterbalance them, or else I would be gone from DU, as would a lot of others.
