we got our cards a couple of weeks ago (Oregon), and it looks like it really will work great for us. I had to have a flu shot last week, just showed the card and it was free (rather than $50). And one kid needs an eye exam and new glasses, which we've scheduled for next week with an optometrist we usually have used, only its covered by insurance now. We have more paperwork to do to schedule checkups and so forth, but that's in the next month or two.

I work with two guys, both with families, who would qualify but listened to all the bad press and didn't bother to do the paperwork. After hearing my stories one of them had me print out the paperwork for him, the other's still going to wait.
