How do we feel about cryptocurrency? [View all]

I wanted to make a poll, but I pay for nothing (besides RunKeeper) online. So, to likely the most tech-savvy group on here..

Is cryptocurrency: Yay Cryptonomicon!; a Ponzi Scheme; or a viable global medium of exchange that is fundamentally sound but is having serious teething problems and needs a lot of refinement and maturity?

Me, based on my very limited understanding of code, sorta reasonable understanding of cryptography, and pretty good math education, say BTC and other CCs are very likely the embryonic forms of the Galactic Credit Standard.
