2. Tumblr for Pics and Commentary, WordPress.Com for Blogging

If he'll be doing a lot of blogging, writing long multi-paragraph blog entries he may want to go with WordPress. Tumblr however, is really coming on with the creative bloggers. Photos look great, it's dead simple to upload, and the community is becoming extremely active.
