New to me reman PC with Windows 7-browser is very clunky [View all]

Or for me it doesn't compare to the old PC itr is replacing. I have Chrome also & that works fine. But my browser in IE is very outdated. My 12 year old unit had a BSOD but I did get it working well again. I thought a refurbished pc would be my best choice.

It got a boatload of updates when I first started it 4 /09 and I turned off automatic updates & it forced more-60!-last night. I just now set it on no updates ever dagnabit don't even try.

I just want a basic PC and my old one suited me fine. The browser on my old one had updated to 8.1 and I blocked the 10 push. There is no option to upgrade to anything but 11 now-

Should I just give in & allow the windows 11"upgrade". I'm not a serious PC user it is more my entertainment center streaming device.
