5. No we don't get FIOS

it's all copper lines from the 1950s. Lineman told me all the lines are bad, but
he could swap onto another bad one if the problem persists.

What's a vault? I don't even have an outside box. Just direct line
and a terminal with ceramic covered solenoids. I have a tech sheet somewhere
from online that tells me how to wire heavier ware direct from the terminal wire
to the router, but that's not really the problem. The disconnects are upline
somewhere. Oops it just disconnected, time to restart the router.
