Every week or so sounds really strange. Unless their is a build issue with that particular mouse, the only thing I could guess is that the mouse is trying to connect to other USB dongles in the area. Are you in a secluded work area or surrounded by a bunch of other computers using cordless mice. I'd say just return or exchange this mouse if still possible.
