Wexit was a RW fringe party in Canada who have rebranded themselves as the Maverick Party. The article exposes the organizer of the gofundme campaign as having ties to the maverick/wexit party & other extremists.

And who are you accusing of lying? The article? These are established facts reported on by multiple Canadian news sources (You'd know that if you lived here like I do, so I am not sure who your "across the pond" comment is meant for - Canada is part of the same North American continent as the U.S):
