Has anyone considered diplomacy - from actual experienced diplomats?? Jimmy Carter went there in 1994 (the first to cross the DMZ in 43 years) and met with Kim Il-sung (grandfather of the current Kim Jong-un) on behalf of the Clinton administration. He began a productive dialog that was successfully continued throughout the rest of Clinton's term by SoS Madeline Albright. Jimmy Carter knew his stuff since he was a nuclear engineer - besides being a tireless diplomat. Kim Il-sung was looking for respect in turn and he got it from Carter. He died soon after that meeting, but Madeline Albright kept up the agreement and the dialog with Kim Jong-il and when Bush* took over in 2001, Kim Jong-il asked if he could continue dealing with Madeline Albright.

The problems started when Bush* broke the agreement by declaring North Korea as part of his "Axis of Evil" in 2002 and the relationship has since become non existent and the threat has exacerbated ever since. Sanctions haven't worked with North Korea. Has anyone considered diplomacy? Though I realize that's not an option that Trump is likely to consider.
