Nanaimo is my adopted hometown, been here since 2019, and love it!

The province is providing expedited credentialing for US nurses (113 credentialed since April!), but not sure if there’s an expedited immigration process, which is federal. Recruitment of US docs has also begun, with similar reports of an expedited credentialing process.

Nurses and doctors are identified as high priority professions, and so as long as the applicant has a clean criminal record check (no DUI’s or drug offences) then approval for either a work visa (quicker) or PR visa (longer, but permanent) should be smooth.

Come on up!
