3. Men of a certain generation

Guessing Johnson and men of his ilk never, lifted. a. finger. in raising their own children. They never had to find day care, or figure out how to go to his kid's middle school for a parent teacher conference during his lunch hour.

These same oldsters yearn for a yesteryear where the adults in the neighborhood watched out and reported back and even disciplined other people's kids.

Scratch the surface of 90% of first borns, and I'm guessing those parents didn't "decide" to embark on parenthood. Those first borns have a way of gestating to completion in five or six months, even if the second and third kids take a full 40 weeks.

Republicans are for exploitive, low wages & long hours. Yet they'll ship good "blue collar" manufacturing jobs overseas to save 90¢ on each labor dollar and bring in automation (remember the Fotomat? The gas station guy? Cashiers?) and consistently vote against raising the minimum wage, then wonder why mom AND dad both have to work, and arrange childcare.

Trickle down economics at work. HOw on earth did this tool defeat Russ Feingold?
