back in 1980 we were forced to take my wife to a Catholic hospital to give birth to our third child-her OB-GYN was there and past history showed there was no time to spare (daughter #2 was born in the waiting room less than 15 minutes after we arrived). So no tubal ligation was available. We went for a vasectomy instead and I have to say it was probably much less invasive and a perfectly acceptable option. As a guy, I wasn't screaming for the procedure but the results were great and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
