Mariners playoff games could impact Seahawks kickoff times [View all]

The Seattle Mariners’ playoff run could potentially impact the kickoff time of up to two Seattle Seahawks games, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday.

The Seahawks and Mariners will both host games on Sunday, Oct. 5 and could again on Monday, Oct. 20, setting up potential logistical nightmares around the neighboring stadiums in Seattle’s SODO district.

The Seahawks face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 5 with a 1:05 p.m. kickoff at Lumen Field. The American League West-champion Mariners host Game 2 of the AL Division Series at T-Mobile Park at a time that has yet to be determined. MLB isn’t expected to announce a game time until Friday, per the report.

If the Mariners are scheduled at the same time as the Seahawks, city officials said the Seahawks’ kickoff time could be pushed back anywhere from 90 to 150 minutes, per Schefter.
