Quality of clothing is not attractive. Stores in many neighborhoods feel like prisons with robo-cops checking every receipt. One store closed five years ago, and a large, modern store at Gateway will close August 9.

Local ownership meant that Freddy's had skin in the game for the community. It now has no strategic thinking beyond the next quarterly earnings statement.
