by 7News Staff, Nick Minock | Friday, September 2nd 2022

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — The second Republican candidate running for Fairfax County School Board announced Thursday she is dropping out of the race after she laughed at an autistic boy singing the national anthem at a school board meeting.

Stephanie Lundquist-Arora says she is no longer a candidate.

7News On Your Side was the first to report on a YouTube video showing Republican Fairfax County School Board candidates Harry Jackson and Lundquist Arora laughing at an autistic student who was singing the national anthem at a Fairfax County School Board meeting.

Lundquist-Arora dropped out of the race one day after 7News asked Virginia Gov. Youngkin if she should leave the school board race due to the incident.
