5. No one swims in the creeks/streams or the retention ponds in this part of Texas

Houston floods easily and so most neighborhoods in the suburbs have retention ponds, There are two retention ponds and a creek near my house. We have ducks in one of the retention ponds near my house and these ducks have visited my front yard on several occasions. It is always amusing to see the ducks go up and down the sidewalks

I have never seen anyone in these bodies of water. The pools are closed right now but all of the pools have fencing to keep out things like gators and snakes.
