2. Looking strictly at the results from Beaver County

There were many uncontested races, positions where no candidate officially filed and were won by write-ins and many where the candidates had cross-filed in the primary and appeared as both the D and the R candidate.

But, Beaver, the county seat and pretty solid R town, did have a contested mayoral election and Dem Lincoln Kretchmar ousted the incumbent R mayor by 13 votes. Dems also won 3 of 4 seats on Beaver borough council. It's the first time since 1912(!) a Dem has been elected mayor there. Probably didn't hurt that Kretchmar bakery in Beaver is a beloved business there.
