That isn't legal. I had to alert the state of NY, when I was told I could only do a 90 day at CVS but not another chain. I which I didn't have to use a national chain, but with NY State pushing electronic prescriptions so hard I had to pick one and CVS was horrible the last time I needed insulin on a weekend out of town. If I could get paper scripts I wouldn't have to use chains, but I'm stuck. Thanks Governor Coumo, this is one big business friendly turd you laid, among others. I can see meds that are abused or often diverted needed more scrutiny, but insulin needs less barriers not more. I'd gladly give biometric details up if I needed insulin without a prescription. Human insulin never required a prescription unless needing insurance reimbursement. And it wasn't wildly overpriced, it was affordable out of pocket, and the technology to make it has improved, not gotten more complicated.
