Consumer advocate wants Inhofe, a global warming skeptic, to debate Massachusetts congressman who headed a House select committee

WASHINGTON — Sen. Jim Inhofe, the most vocal skeptic in Congress of man-made global warming, accepted a challenge on Monday from longtime consumer advocate Ralph Nader to debate a Massachusetts congressman on the issue.

A spokesman for Rep. Ed Markey, who headed a select House committee on global warming, said the Massachusetts Democrat was also up for the debate.
Nader's challenge came in a letter to Inhofe, in which he said, “For the past decade, I have been reading about your description of the global warming assertions by scientists as ‘one of the greatest hoaxes' ever perpetrated.
“Your aversion to the climate change advocates has never flagged, to my knowledge … Clearly you are a man of your convictions on this subject. Just as clearly, Rep. Ed Markey is a man of his convictions on this topic.”
