"According to the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), the United States Postal Service (USPS) is planning to close its mail processing centers in Tulsa and Fayetteville and combine them with the center serving the Oklahoma City Region.

"Under the plan, Tulsa and Fayetteville would lose the machines they use to postmark mail. Only the Oklahoma City facility will be able to postmark — which could lead to problems for customers the farther they live from Oklahoma City.

“'Anything you drop off at the post office is automatically going to be postmarked a day later than when you dropped it off,' she said. 'That makes a difference when it comes to voting ballots, taxes. You know, when you’re paying your bills.'
