So it fits.

D'Amato - as a sitting US Senator - once showed up in federal court as a DEFENSE witness for a Gambino crime Capo! Who had the balls to call him! Surprised the hell out of federal prosecutors.

A long history of bribery and shakedowns, so I am not surprised by this story.
