I visited many of the mansions from the gilded era in NY and Newport, RI, but didn't know this one is the largest. As I read the story of their struggles to maintain such a large property, I could sympatize. Even having a regular property, a middle-class home, is demanding to maintain. And even if you have the money, it is demanding on your time.
