Do you really not understand why the various MJ legalization state laws don't let you grow it?

The bills are written and lobbied by large MJ financial interests to protect their turf.

States are principally looking for a tax windfall. Because growing MJ is a hell of a lot easier than brewing beer or making wine, a lot more people would simply do that and not pay the tax.

It took a federal law to legalizing making your own wine and beer, and no you are not allowed to "distill" any spirits. Don't know where you got that last part. You can only brew and ferment. If you distill, you are going to jail.
