1. I got a form letter in the mail from my boss. (We're in NJ)

Congratulated me and all the other employees for a job well done in 2020, with the Pandemic and all.

And as a reward, he stated he was going to give us all a raise, to $12.00 hourly, starting January 1, 2021. Nice. This was 2 weeks ago.

Today, I found out (like the OP) that NJ is mandating $12 an hour be paid as minimum wage.

It's not a raise when it's the same rate that NJ is mandating. And it's legally minimum wage.
