John Allan Sandeen Jr., 64, has been charged with multiple felonies after sending emails claiming he would harm and kill two people, apparently in response to the Sept. 10 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Court documents stated that Sandeen sent emails to two church music directors, one in Maple Grove and another in White Bear Lake. Sandeen reportedly threatened both of the individuals.

“I think that you and your cohorts have killed my friend Charlie,” Sandeen reportedly wrote in one email to the man in Maple Grove. “For this I hold you and your people responsible. It’s fair game to let the hunted know that they are hunted. You are now advised.”

In other emails, Sandeen reportedly described how he would hurt and kill the Maple Grove director, breaking his fingers, castrating and decapitating him.

When speaking with the police, the Maple Grove director said he had never met Sandeen and could not recall an interaction that occured between the two. The director from White Bear Lake informed authorities in Ramsey County that he had known Sandeen for many years and that the two would often communicate over the phone or email.
