… since it failed legislatively (couldn’t achieve the necessary 2/3 majority in the state House).

Measure would be detrimental to many who may have difficulty accessing or acquiring the right documents… including some rural voters, the elderly, anyone who has ever changed their name for any reason, and ethnic minorities.

Quite clearly it’s an attempt at voter suppression.
