Ice cream shop in Cape Cod opens during coronavirus pandemic only to close after customers harassed [View all]

A Cape Cod ice cream shop opened on Friday during the coronavirus pandemic but then closed up after customers were angry over the ordering guidelines set by the shop.

The Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlour in Mashpee opened Friday after the owner felt he could safely serve the public during the coronavirus outbreak.

The ice cream shop posted a message online telling people that all orders had to be done one hour in advance.

Mark Lawrence, the owner of the shop, told Boston25 News that people didn’t listen to the ordering guidelines and began taking it out on his employees.

“Regardless of people’s frustrations, to take it out on a teenage girl is simply wrong,” Lawrence posted on the shop’s Facebook page.
