Ernst told the crowd that protestors do not bother her, because she will hold firm to her stance on abortion.

"As long as I'm moving around the state, they are following me everywhere I go," said Ernst. "But at the end of all times, I can stand proud because I know -- and you all know -- that we are on the right side in supporting life."

Among other issues, Ernst emphasized the importance of keeping the GOP in control. Ernst commended her party for not allowing a vote of former President Barack Obama's nominee to replace the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court. Ernst says holding out for President Trump's nominee -- Neil Gorsuch -- will have a lasting impact in the country.

"It will impact us for my lifetime, my daughter's lifetime and my grandchildren's' lifetimes," said Ernst. "The decisions that the court makes today, will impact us for a very, very long time. So it was so important that we elected a Republican president and one that we knew would select the right person to serve on our court. Thank God for Donald J. Trump."
