Cecil Stinemetz of Urbandale has decided he will not be resuming his duties as a delegate after leaving the convention floor on Monday. He was among Ted Cruz backers pushing for convention votes to change some party rules. Now, he says he can’t continue on because he doesn’t even recognize the Republican Party.

Stinemetz has been replaced by an alternate delegate. It all happened after he decided to walk off the convention floor on Monday. Now he’s saying the whole process is corrupt.

“I made a promise and I made it public that I would not vote or support Donald Trump and that meant at this convention, in November, that means anytime,” Stinemetz said.

Stinemetz left the floor in disgust on Monday after an attempt to force a roll-call vote on the convention rules failed.
