I saw a Feenstra headline at the grocery store that took me down a little rabbit hole.
An icky, icky, Feenstra rabbit hole. 
In 2024, it was clear that a lot of republicans didn't like Randy when his GOP primary opponent endorsed...(checks notes)...the Democrat Randy Melton.
Well, it seems that ole smarmy Randy's run for Governor is also rubbing people in his party the wrong way.
This is the conservative Washington Examiner:
Iowa congressman took cash from Chinese companies buying American farmland
Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-IA) has made opposing the Chinese acquisition of American farmland a cornerstone of his congressional career and has highlighted this position during his ongoing run for Iowa governor. However, campaign finance records show Feenstra was accepting contributions from political action committees controlled by Chinese companies that have purchased swaths of farmland in the United States.
Federal Election Commission records show that, between 2020 and 2024, committees belonging to Syngenta and Smithfield Foods wired over $20,000 to Feenstra’s congressional campaign. Both Syngenta and Smithfield Foods have strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party and collectively control tens of thousands of acres of farmland across the U.S..

Some conservative and Republican organizations were beginning to wonder if Randy Feenstra, the U.S. congressman and candidate for Iowa governor, would ever accept their invitations to engage with the Republican grassroots before the June gubernatorial primary.
Perhaps he’s finally ready to change things up. Among a series of campaign stops last week, Feenstra appeared at the Feb. 17 monthly gathering for MAGA Nation, a conservative group formed last year to maintain the energy behind President Donald Trump’s 2024 win.

Tuesday’s event was better than what I’d previously observed, but it couldn’t cure me of my concerns about the governor’s race in Iowa.
I said it in December, and I’ll say it again now: if Randy Feenstra is the nominee, Iowa Republicans will lose in 2026.
