Handwriting changes over the years and NO ONE signs their name the same way twice. I have some judges in my precinct who act like forensic handwriting experts. Never mind our precinct is so small tis the rare person who comes into vote that none of know. Last election of them asked a voter (that we knew) to sign a new signature sheet when he checked in. Voter said no. She asked *again* - voter bluntly told her "no" in a tone that implied "don't ask me again".

As to the ever present worry about someone voting who isn't eligible, the election workers bear no liability. And if you get a Real ID DL, you've shown a boatload of documents. Face it, documents are easy to forge if you want to become even more paranoid.
