Chicago Tribune headline - “Rep. Lauren Underwood and Republican challenger Jim Oberweis separated by less than 1,000 votes with mail-in ballots still to be counted”

“The race between Rep. Lauren Underwood and Republican challenger Jim Oberweis remained too close to call Wednesday morning, with the candidates separated by less than 1,000 votes, according to unofficial results.
The tally, which gave Oberweis 189,025 votes and Underwood 188,130, did not include an undetermined number of mail-in and provisional ballots, according to county clerk’s offices in the 14th Congressional District.”
